ABOUT CLIFTON!

Hello, I’ve been asked questions like: “What kind of writer are you? What’s your genre, passion that makes you tick?” Well, an answer doesn’t come easily because I’ve discovered myself involved in different subjects from historical non-fiction of the Western Great Plains and national civil rights and freedom events, to fictional Alfred Hitchcock-type thrillers, middle school magical imagination, and Sci-Fi murder mysteries, among other areas.

It’s dawned on me, though, the writers or story tellers, who’ve made the biggest impact on my life, are those who are somewhat like an umpire, calling strikes and balls, fouls and hits. It's the story scene of the game that's important, not the umpire—writer or story teller. I try to pen a few of the memorable scenes of a person or event, as it played out in life.  Whether true historical accounts or merely composites of the bits and pieces learned from experience and knowledge, they deserve to be resurrected from the truths and ashes of history. Readers deserve nothing short of this trust.
